Important Urgent Care & Emergency Care Recommendations

We always want our patients to get the best care at the best value. As such, we wanted to share what we consider to be the best options for getting urgent or emergency care for non-life-threatening medical conditions after hours or even during our normal office hours if we are unable to accommodate you or if your medical condition requires more complex testing and treatment than we can do in our office.

There are now some excellent non-hospital facilities that provide the same type of care you can get at hospital emergency rooms or at a typical urgent care facility for non-life-threatening medical conditions. Some of these facilities specialize specifically in just Orthopedic or Pediatric care. Best of all, since these are not categorized by insurance companies as hospital emergency rooms, the insurance copayment for these facilities is normally the same as a regular urgent care center even though they can provide more complex emergency room types of care, and these facilities are in-network for most insurance plans. Additionally, these facilities are normally a lot less expensive than hospital facilities because their charges are based on outpatient care cost factors, and not on the typical hospital rates for services provided.

The following is a list of facilities we highly recommend along with a summary about each facility. We would urge you to save this information or print this for future reference. Please do not confuse these facilities with the new hospital run “Mini-ER’s” popping up all over town; going to a hospital owned “Mini-ER” will cost you the same copayment and overall charges an Emergency Room at the actual hospital itself.
